Guest guest
Hey all, I have missed everyone. Jackie has had a good year and a half, really. Some minor flare ups. Her doctor has been managing her pain with 4 lortab and 6 ultram a day she takes a few other meds neurontin, cholestral medicine, enzymes. I feel bad because I haven't been around and now that I need help, here I am, but I have no where to turn. Last year I was divorced, I work third shift, homeschool Jackie and her sis. So life has been busy and hard. I was trying so hard to get Jackie some normalcy. Well a few weeks ago she started hurting worse, when I had her scheduled for a big test to test how she is doing in school, called a IOWA test, I think the stress brought some of this on. Well, she has been vomiting and hurting really bad. So Friday the doc puts her in the hospital, he gives her lortab 7.5 every six hours and a little morphine, every two as needed...she pretty much did the lortab on schedule and morphine every three. Said her pain was a 7 or 8 on a scale of 0-10. Well he took blood, ultrasound, and CT scan...every thing normal. She will not drink, was on an IV with phenagran going thru the IV she would still throw up the water that she drank with the pills he had her take, stomach acid pill, zocor for cholestral, or lortab. Well he said her tests were normal, said she didn't have pancreatitis, and sent her home on Sunday, she had just had morphine a couple hours before. I did ask him if he is saying she doesn't have pancreatitis then is she not suppose to have been in pain this past couple of years, he said maybe a low grade pain, he has been giving her the meds. And then last nite right before she would have pain med again she threw everything up that was on her stomach. She said the pain and nausea are still bad and I know I need to take her by tomorrow morn if this continues, I did just get her to eat a little of a popsicle. Does anyone know what could be causing her to have nausea this bad, she said the pain is the pain she always has with her pancreas. I was hoping the CT would show something but it didn't, he just sent her home, she has a scheduled appt on the May 4. I really liked him when she was just in regular daily pain and he treated that fine, but now I am at a loss. Just to update ya'll she is 14, a little overweight, which the doc doesn't like, but she has always been that way. Any ideas on what this could be, I wonder is it time to go to Dr. Sutherland. thanks for all that ya'll do, here, I hope to come back and spend more time with you all.
