Hi,

I haven't heard of any nasty side effects from Demerol (besides the

risk of addiction). But that goes with any pain meds. I too have

mepergan (50mg demerol/25mg phenergan) capsules that I take at

home. They seem to work for me the best. My family physician gave

them to me. They take care of the nausau and most of the pain.

Alot of times it takes 2 pills to take ALL of the pain away. When I

took the oxycotin at 20mg. or 40 mg. my pain was gone but then my

stomach was a mess. I also tried to take 1 mepergan and 1 20mg

oxycotin and that took all of my pain away too, but then the stomach

was not feeling well again. So I think I will stick to just the

demerol, it seems to agree with me. I'll tell the dr next time I go

see him, about the pain meds not agreeing with me. I try to

medicate myself at home so I don't have to go to the ER anymore.

They really don't know what to do with me when I am there anyway.

Also I am 25 miles from the nearest ER room too. Yes, I live in the

country. Last time I had to go to the ER they gave me Dialud (sp.)

and it sent me into a full blown attack and then the nurse panicked

and gave me the demerol, which I had requested in the first place.

Oh well, I have found that " trial and error " play a major role in

any disease.

Take care
