Guest guest
Well first I hope you are doing OK. Did the GI doc give you any specific diagnoses? I would ask what type of enzymes? I have been on a generic (lypram) now for about 2 years. I took time for my body to get accustom to the new enzymes. I went from 117 to my last appointment 153 in about a 1 1/2 years. Even before all of this stuff and the major surgery I had in 2000 never weighed this much. Second, what type of pain meds? Third, Does your Primary Care doc know about Chronic Pancreatits? If not try to get as much info as you can condense it down in something you understand and this should help you educate them. Please ask as many questions here, because there are so many people here to help. Walt
Guest guest
> Hi, I'm sorry but I need to vent alittle. I hope someone out there > is listening and I'm sure many of you can relate to my post. I feel like I'm falling apart right now. > Kris in TN Hi Kris, Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time of it. I also apologize for taking so long to respond to your post. I have not been checking my mail regularly as of late, so this info may be dated by te time you receive it. I was on Sandistatin shots for about 6 months and, yes they are very expensive. Fortunately, my insurance carrier did not give me any trouble so I was able to try this to help with my poor digestion. Unfortunately, they did not do me any good as I continued to throw up just about on a daily basis. Also, another word of warning, the shots hurt a bit. However, don't use my statement as the answer to your medical problems. One thing I have come to learn over the years is that no two patients suffering from pancreatitis will get relief in the same way. While Sandistatin is usually helpful for gastric paresis (I hope I spelled this okay), in my case it was unsuccessful. I still vomit for no apparent reason from time to time, but nothing like what I used to do, thank God. I hope you can find resolution toyour current problem. We pancreatitis sufferers have enought to contend with anymore undo pain or discomfit. Andre'
