Guest guest
I guess what I meant by a chart review is that you don't have to go see the doctor yourself. Some centers that specialize in esoteric diseases are willing to do a consult with a referring physician by just looking at the records and tapes without seeing the patient. Sometimes that is fairly cheap (compared to an actual office visit) and sometimes insurance companies will pay for it, especially if the referring physician makes a strong case for you. I am not sure if the Lehman group does that but there may be others out there that will (and for pretty reasonable prices too. Maybe even for less than $500 - should be cheaper than an office visit anyways or only slightly more depending on how much time they have to spend reviewing your tapes / charts). And as far as not even finding your minor papilla - That is very interesting! But again, there is suppose to be ways to find this using special dyes and stuff that they put in....but maybe that is experimental too. Probably why they are talking maybe surgery is that the fact that they can't find the papilla is changing the whole picture from when you first presented and they thought you were a clear cut case of PD. Don't give up! It sounds like your docs are trying to figure all of this out! Laurie
