I have three primary ways that I keep going. 1) Live one day at a time, and sometimes one moment at a time. 2) Surround myself with those things that feed the human spirit with positive energy and love. 3) Try to get out of myself, as much as possible, by helping someone else. I am grateful for the opportunity to 'talk' to someone who has called, emailed, or posted questions about Pancreatitis, or they are scared because their loved ones or themselves are so sick they are afraid they will die, or they are so confused with who to believe or what they should do. I don't have answers, but for those moments that I am focused on what I can do to help someone else, simply by opening my heart to care, I have escaped my own pain. And, though these may only be brief and isolated moments, they are sufficient to refuel my spirit to help me walk through my own pain. -- Karyn E. , RN Executive Director, PAI http://www.pancassociation.org Pancreatitis Association International
