Guest guest
Hi Nadia, I am so glad that you aredoing SCD. My son did vomit once during the first weeks of SCD. He had many regressions including digestive ones. I was petrified and begged him to eat rice but he refused. After the first bad weeks, the die off reactions stopped. We then found out that SCD is the right diet for him. My son loves SCD and he made the comic book version of SCD on the pecanbread website. Guest guest
Welcome, Nadia... <<Our 6 yo vomited on day 2, but he regularly (about every 4 to 6 weeks) vomites. Our 8 yo vomited on day 4 (and he hasn't been vomiting for ages). Is this a normal reaction to the diet?>> Yes, nausea.... even vomiting... can be experienced in the beginning. This should only be temporary. Giving baths with epsom salts (plain magnesium sulphate- bath salts) can help them feel better. Their bodies are dealing with a lot of toxins right now from dying bacteria. <<Also both my older sons stool looks like pebbles, we haven't been able to have normal BM the first couple days - we were constipated. Both of them have also a floated belly, is this a normal reaction?>> Bloating is common...again, caused by die-off. Constipation is also common, probably from the fact that you are eating far more protein and less fiber right now. There are a LOT of big changes going on in the intestinal tract... this should be improving before long. There is a " constipation protocol " on Elaine's website: www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info look in the " Knowledge Base " under " C " .... and click the links that say " constipation " . Some good tips there. <<We will now go to stage 1 and adding some vegetables and fruit.>> This should help with the constipation... although keep in mind that bananas and cooked apples both *can* be somewhat " binding " (contribute to firming up the stool). Be sure all your vegetables and fruits are peeled and cooked (exception- ripe bananas do not need to be cooked). <<I do have the feeling that during the intro diet we ate a lot of eggs and meat beside the carrots, is this oke?>> That probably explains the constipation. Don't worry about it... just move on. Add new foods one at a time, as tolerated. best of luck, Patti
Guest guest
Tx, Mimi and Patti, for your Both my elder sons still have bloated bellies, but it is less right now. Also they can go at least once a day but still their stool looks like pebbles. I'm wondering if it is okay to add scd yoghurt to the diet? Me and my oldest son are casein free for 6 months. We did a IGG test for foodintolerances and my oldest could tolerate only goat milk following this test. For myself, I can't tolerate any milk. Is it wise to introduce it then or should we wait a bit longer? Nadia
