My fasting glucose was 92 mg/dl. Jim, First of all, I hope you can hear my sigh of relief for finding out that you have such a heathy, normal blood glucose score! That is ALWAYS good news to hear, and I'm sure it does much to ease your mind. Given your family background with diabetes, it does come as an unexpected, but very welcome surprise. I know you've consulted both your doctor and dentist about this, so there's been no lack of attention paid. I have to admit that I'm stumped, for even if you do a search for " sore teeth and gums " on the internet, the first responses that show up are diabetes related. This undoubtedly is a real mystery, but if I hear of anything else or other hypothesis', I will certainly let you know. Meanwhile, if you haven't already done this, I would suggest a change to a soft bristled tooth brush, use of a water pic (my dentist insists on them), used with warm water, and a toothpaste for sensitive teeth. I find the water pic, used with warm water, to be very helpful whenever my gums or teeth seem tender or irritated. I know this doesn't answer your question, yet you might find that it will provide some relief until a cause and an answer are found. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
