Guest guest
Hi, We live near Boston, MA. My son is almost 5 month old. with inputs from Cranial tech, I could determine that he may be moderate case of brachycephaly. We are eager to put a band as I think earlier is better and quicker in this case. However our Ped is not so enthusiastic about it. She is thinking it should correct itself and there is no harm in waiting until 6 months while we continue to take follow positional therpy. We have CIGNA open access plus insurance and when I read their guidelines, I realize that to get band covered in insurance before the age of 6 months, a lot of documentation is involved. Hence may be our Dr is discouraging us. Has anyone got band covered through CIGNA? I would like to know from experienced parent if it safe to wait until 6 months or I should just be ready to shell our $3600 and do it right away? (I am not rich but can spend my bank balance for my only son). Does it cost to just get him checked from specialist? Can I simply take him to any specialist and get evaluated? Whom do you recommend? Any information will help!
