Well, we've returned safely from our trip to TX. While iel is truely the

only family member that is scd, we all follow it pretty well. While we were in

TX, only iel was anywhere close to scd. Oh my goodness. My husband's

family has literally only junk food in their house. I'm glad that I brought all

of iel's food, and will bring food for our entire family next time. The

entire trip, the rest of us had to eat pretty much just junk food i.e. chips,

cereal bars, ect. because that's all that was available. As I stated before the

trip, my husband's mother doesn't cook, and so they don't own cooking

supplies(pots, skillets, baking pans). Well, I had a stomach ache by bed time

every single day. What I noticed about the baby was this. He's been battling

eczema for months now, and I haven't yet been able to figure out the cause. He

pretty much has it on his feet(just the tops) all the time. I thought it was

bad, but I hadn't seen anything yet. Usually, his feet are red and rough.

Well, during the trip they got even worse. They had huge bumps all over the

tops, and were terribly red. He even started to get the spots on his legs in

various places. Even the prescription cream wasn't getting rid of it. This

usually works, but the eczema comes back a few days after I stop applying the

lotion. We've been home for two days, and the eczema is improving. I don't

expect it to totall subside since I haven't had success completely since it

first started. It's a million times better already though. He is still

nursing, too. So, I'm thinking that maybe he and I both need to give a hearty

effort of fanatical scd for a month or two to see if we can drive the eczema

away permanently. Amazing what food can do to your body.
