I only wish that a lot of pediatricians could see these photos! We’ve found that many tend to brush off parents with concerns, telling them that babies’ heads “will just round out on their own” if given enough time. The truth is, there is always a chance it could get even worse! And at that point, parents don’t have the banding option any longer because the children are too old! When I see new parents posting here, struggling with whether or not to band their child, I always hope that they can get past whatever issues they might have and go for it. Whenever there IS doubt about your child’s head shape, there is probably NO doubt that you could benefit from banding. Can’t say enough about the great staff at Cranial Tech in Phoenix! Guest guest
I think Samson's pics are amazing too. His head looks like it was seriously flat when he started treatment, and now, well, he looks SO much better. I am so happy for him. I know another little boy who goes to Maysa's daycare and who was adopted from Ethiopia. He has plagiocephaly but his mother refuses to band him. I have known him for 4 months and his head is NOT rounding out on its own. I am so happy for Samson that you decided to band him even though he was older. The DOC band DOES work. I just wished more doctors believed so as well.
