Guest guest
Transduodenal sphincteroplasty- he made an incision fromjust below my sternum to just above my navel. He went to the duodenum opened the pancreatic duct/sphincter, cut away a few cm and attached it directly to the inside of the intestinal wall. This will open the sphincter and allow drainage of the digestive enzymes directly to the intestine at the duodenum. A drain/stent was placed to keep it open for about 5 weeeks. It is a good procedure and works if done in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the head of my panc was already completely fibrotic so it helped drainage a little but not much and after the drain was pulled it didn't take long to realize it didn't help at all. It may have made matters worse; I dont know for sure. I do know I got very sick about 3 months later and here I am now. I am actually feeling pretty good today. I ate a real meal last night. First one in, well, months. I had a lot of pain after but I am not sure if it was panc or my guts in shock. I dont want to gain weight, and actually want to drop another 20. At that weight I would be thinner then when I was married. I am already about the size I was when I had my first child, for me thats pretty darn skinny. I have always been on the " full figured side " . I like to call it voluptuous!LOL. Well I hope that answered your question, and again I wrote a book.
