Hi thanks for responding to my posts. My mother has more

symptoms...like swelling in the nose, but lately, meaning in the past

year it seems to have traveled more to her ears...painfull to touch

and swollen. The red marks on her legs are screamingly bright. She

was just diagnosed a little over a year and a half ago...after having

symptoms for a few years...they just could not diagnose it. What I

would like to know is this a generally fatal or is it something you

can live with.

You wanted to know a little more about me you...anyways I am 23,

female actually you can call me Jammie. I want to know as much as I

can about this...meaning to me as much knowledge as I can get about

this illness I will be more able to help my mother and myself in case

I ever get this. Is it a real touchy disease? It seems anything will

flare up those red spots or (rash looking) on her legs.

My uncle has this and some other members of my family do too.

A few of my other relatives have a disease known as

polyarteritis...it is in the same family as this polychondritis...all

I really know about this is that it can constrict the blood

vessels...my uncle had this and they gave him a 5 years to live at

the most...well he has has had it for about 10. I just want to know

as much as I can.

Thankyou--Jammie E
