Guest guest
, I'm so glad you are home now. I'm sure you'll be able to get more rest there. I know I can never get any real good sleep in the hospital as there is always someone in the room waking you up. Hope you continue to have a good recovery. Take it easy and don't do too much. If you have to go anywhere in the car, take a pillow with you that you can put between your stomach and the seatbelt. Believe me, it will help cushion you from the bumps in the road and such. Guest guest
How many hours have you slept by now? I'm sure Dennis was more then happy to see the two of ya'll. Yes I did get that great card from Syndey. Thankyou. I have a basket of postcards from all over, thanks to some of the members of this board, and I look through them and day dream. I hated to quit that job, it was great. Was just too physically demanding for me at the moment. If I called in I would have gotten fired and its better to have quit due to illlness then getting tossed for the same. Maybe I can find something in research. My husband says to take off a year and get well. Maybe 6 months at the most for me. I would love to be back on top of my game by the new year. I think that is a reasonable goal. I dont know if the Cinci doc will think I am sick enough now. Still ticks me off that he said that. We'll see when he comes back from his vacation in a week or so. Im sorry your feeling that all to familiar weight. I hope its nothing and a side affect of returning to this side of the world. Remember how your swelling went down when you went down there...lol. Glad your home safe and sound and I was thinking about ya'll. I saw your post the other day, just wasn't feeling well. I'm sure you were busy reuniting with your stateside family. Isn't Sea World wonderful. I've been to the one in Fla many times, loved it. Welcome home and take it easy. It will take time to settle back in. Guest guest
Thanks for the well wishes, Connie. The pain is a little better today as long as I make sure I take my pain meds on time and not wait until it is unbearable. I haven't been outside yet today but it looks pretty hot here in NC as well. Enjoy the pool and congrats on your future grandchild! > Congratulations on being home ! > > Sorry to hear your having a rough time of it, I PROMISE, it does get better. > > As for face pain, etc. I've started up with this pressure/pain right at the peak of my left cheek bone, it radiates to my left ear and it feels like someone is blowing cold air into my left ear canal. Intermittent and annoying. I started sleeping in bed about 10 days after surgery (still with a couple of pillos) and some nights use a heating pad to soothe the feelings just prior to sleep. > > I also cheated a couple of nights and took a muscle relaxant at bed time...knocks me out and I can totally relax.....it ensures I get PLENTY of sleep. I am an over-achiever and have high standards for myself, so I've been overdoing it almost every day once my dr. cleared me to drive (one week post-op) Unfortunately, here in Austin Texas it is already at the 100 degree mark and the HEAT is just really hard to deal with. I'm exhausted after being out, running around for 3-4 hours. > > Today is a day INSIDE. Slept in until 10 30 a.m. my daughter just came over (22 and prego with my first g'child) and we might go to the pool here soon. Other than that it is INSIDE and movies! > > Hugs, Connie > > >
