Guest guest
Dear Chrissy, How kind of you to remember that to-day is my EUS. I am worrying less because of evrything you told me about it. I'll have to wait a while to get the results because I want to see Prof when they are discussed and he's away for the month of August. Hopefully I'll get an appointment in early September. How are you? I know you are worrying about the delay with the TP/ICT. When do you expect to hear definitely? Are they relying on reports from Dr and previous tests etc.or will they need to see you yet again in Cinci before coming to a final date or decision? I hope you are able to keep up your strength with careful eating, exercise and rest before the next op. When I finish this I'm going into Jim's computer to send you those pictures of 's graduation and also our Cornish holiday. BTW, it won't have made it to US TV but one of the lovely villages we visited was smashed and destroyed by freak flash floods on Monday. It was heartbreaking to see, especially as we'd been there so recently. I don't think it will ever be the same again and the tourist trade will suffer terribly. I bought something in a shop there which was said on Monday to have " slipped 20 feet to the left and collapsed under the weight of the rushing water. " The village is called Boscastle. If we've got a pic of it on the computer I'll send it. It's a little harbour village situated in a valley surrounded on all sides by steep slopes. A freak thunder storm caused the problem but it hasn't happened like this before in the long history of this village. Unbelievably, no known loss of life, so far, but still some unaccounted for. The problem is the fact that so many there would have been tourists and visitors, not locals, so they are sometimes difficult to trace. Anyway, the US has been suffering its own major problems this week. I've been thinking especially of those in Florida. Hope everyone on the board has been OK? BTW, for some strange reason, they don't normally wear the academic cap at the graduation ceremony in Cambridge although they do at Oxford. These ancient places have their own traditions!! The red hood is for the doctorate. Well, Chrissy, I'll send you those pics now and then get ready for the EUS. As Jim has to take me (sedation etc.) to drive me home, I won't have to allow for the very long wait to park which lways makes visits to this hospital so much more stressful. When it was built in the late 60's (I think), they underestimated growing parking needs and, as it's in the middle of the city, there's no more space to expand. Even though it's a huge car park, it's literally a question of queueing and waiting for each car to leave before the next can be allowed in! Take care Chrissy. I'm sending you my very warmest wishes. With love, Fliss (UK)
