Guest guest
Hi again Patty! ANA stands for 'antinuclear antibodies.' The test can be used for indications of lots of things but I think it's usually used to check for autoimmune diseases. B/c of the symptoms you're having, my guess is your doc's checking for indications of arthritis. IgG stands for 'immunoglobulin G.' I'm not a doc, but I believe they're checking for a deficiency in the production of B-cell lymphocytes, which are a type of white blood cells. There can be a deficiency or the cells themselves may not mature. I think it's a way to test for immunodeficiency, but again, b/c of your symptoms, it's probably a more specific test for autoimmune disease, again arthritis. I really think he's just ruling out arthritis. I doubt you have it. I've had all over stiffness & soreness, but my tests were negative for any of those types of diseases. No one's ever been able to explain it & I haven't been able to figure out what causes it in my body. Maybe someone else here has had the same thing & knows what it is. Maybe someone here can answer that for both of us. I hope this helps. Hugs, Deanna Tubb New Mexico PAI Rep
