e,

I don't know anyone that opens gifts x-mas eve here. We open all our

once Santa has been on Christmas morning. We then have our neighbours

in for breakfast. Then my parents and brother come over around 11am and

then all the others come. We always have a cooked lunch along with

seafood and cold stuff like salad. We also have a chocolate mud

birthday cake instead of a fruit pudding. It's also very very hot here

at Christmas over 100F. And then in the afternoon we always get out the

slip and slide and everyone ends up soaking wet, and laughing their

heads off. We have x-mas, Easter in fact everything at our house every

year. We out our tree up the afternoon after the big x-mas pageant in

Adelaide which is usually around the 13th Nov. and take it down anytime

from proclamation day (boxing day in the UK) to New Year.

Traditions

When I meet new people I like to ask them what their holiday

traditions are, regardless of religion. Do you open presents

Christmas Eve, or morning? What does Santa bring? All of the

presents or one big special one? Do you stay home or go to

family/friends? How about for dinner? Whats traditional? We used to

do turkey and when I was young I brought up the fact that #1 I did

not like turkey and #2 wasn't it good enough that we just had turkey

last month? What about a tree? Put it up on the 24th or earlier and

when does it come down? Just curious as to how our friends in other

countries ( that includes Ohio)(heehee) celebrate!

Love to all,

e

from the sounds of it. YEAH, for a great month of lovely traditions. Have a
