Is Echinacea Tea allowed on the intro diet? I know Elaine said that it was

legal, and it does help me somewhat with energy so I'm hoping it's a yes.

You know, I can tell you it's not one of the legal beverage teas. Yes, I do see

that she's allowed echinacea as legal, but I think she meant in a medicinal

dose, as needed for colds, etc.... temporarily.

BUT, with that said, in our recent discussions about mucilaginous herbs, which

are illegal, I noticed that echinacea is included in that list.

<<Herbs in this classification include

althea, aloe, burdock, comfrey, dandelion, echinacea, fenugreek, kelp, psylium,

slippery elm, dulse, glucomannan from Konjak root, Irish moss, and mullein. >>

So... I am confused and not sure what to tell you. I have to assume that Elaine

would have known it was classified as such, but am just not sure.

Okay, well...until I know for sure, I won't drink it. If anyone else can

chime in, please do!

Elaine's coments regarding echinacea.

http://lyris.dundee.net/read/messages?id=247298#247298

The legal echinacea is the homeopathic type - the actual herb is illegal.

The homeopathic dilution, I would doubt, could hurt anyone but why use it if

you have reservations?

Echinacea is OK as a homepathic therapy. I do think that even a tincture

may present problems but, obviously, it will be better than the whole herb.

of the Long Island List

said it gave her one

of the worst flares she ever had.

Turet just wrote that she was surprised that I had allowed Echinacea

to be considered " legal. " Here is my reply:

<<<Echinacea in alcohol solution has been changed to legal. But if we

continue

to get negative reports on it, we will take it off. If I hear anymore

reports on echinacea, we will take it off.

Thank you
