New and Worried :(

My 4 month old daughter got her DOC Band Wednesday and it's now Sunday night.

She isn't sleeping in it tonight and has not worn it all day. I did the checks

after 3 hours of wearing it and she had a couple of harsh red spots that were

taking longer than an hour to fade so we went in Friday for an adjustment as a

spot above her ear where it bulges (has brachy) looked like it was on the verge

of being a blister. They shaved it down some and put a gauze type thing over

it. It was right where the helmet latches. Over the weekend it seems to have

worsen and this morning it was oozing clear liquid, so I haven't put it back on.

Also, when she wakes up, fluid has built up in between the latch. It looks

awful and seems to be painful to her. She does well in it, until night time or

when we lay her on her back. That's when it seems painful. Her little cry

kills me.

They said it would always be pink in the spot that concerned me, but that red

was bad. Well, where is the line between pink and red? Certainly seems bad

enough to not put the band back on her for awhile. I hate that she isn't

wearing it because when she wakes up I feel like I can already see a small

difference and really want her in it as soon as possibble, but of course I don't

want any blisters or pain from it!

Well this band every be comfortable for her and fit right? I feel like the

latch needs to be on the other side because it bulges less there. Will they

remake a band if the first one doesn't seem to fit right?

I struggled over banding her but was glad I decided to because she really does

need it, but this makes me worried that maybe I shouldn't have.

Need encouragement and advice.

Thanks.
