Guest guest
I have a Bee Beyer Dehydrator. I've not found another like it on the Internet, but it's a huge box (like my microwave) that holds about 7 screens/trays (it seems similar to the Excalibur). The air flows from right to left. I know my temperature control dial is off, so I use a thermometer when setting the temperature. I only place yogurt on the left side because it gets way too hot near the heating coil. The temperature seems to vary a bit. I know I'm supposed to keep the temperature between 100 and 110 F. Mine seems to fluctuate between 95 and 118 as the heating element kicks on and off. The temperature is only outside of the 'correct' degrees for a very short time, then it's back into the right range. My hubby says it shouldn't affect the yogurt because it will heat and cool more slowly then the air temperature and it should stay in the correct range. Is this normal variance for a dehydrator to do and is the yogurt OK? -Sharon
