Guest guest
We started my four year old asd son on gfcf 5months ago with great results. We had allergy panel test run and he came back reactive to yogurt among other things. Will the goat yogurt effect him or do you think he will be alright because he has not had any for months and it is so chemically different from milk yogurt? I should mention that we are going scd because we still can't get his yeast under control and he seems to have become addicted to his rice and potato stuff like he used to be to his gluten and dairy. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Just yogurt? Or all cow dairy? Goat milk is different from cow milk... for sure. But, I can't guarantee he wouldn't react to it. Have you ever seen an actual, observable reaction to cow dairy? Or does this just come up in the tests? I have to admit, I don't have much experience with allergy testing. Kids with leaky guts will often test positive for sensitivities or allergies on the tests.... I know that. And after some time on SCD, many kids have lost those sensitivities they formerly had.... once the gut has healed. Most families on this list start with SCD goat yogurt.... in very, very small quantities. We usually suggest waiting a few weeks or even a month or so before starting the yogurt, just so any die-off symtoms from the diet itself won't be confused with a dairy reaction. You don't have to use the dairy yogurt... but it is wonderfully healing stuff! Some families choose to remain completely dairy free.... and you can do that. You definitely need to be using an acidophilus supplement at least, though. Patti
