Hi All,

Has anyone used a TENS unti for analgesia (pain relief) for pancreatitis? If so,

at what points on the body is the unit attached? I am trying to understand how

to use this thing, so any info users may have would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Jerry,

I got my unit about two and a half years ago and used it a lot until I killed

it, we

still haven't gotten it fixed. I placed the pads on my back, two located on the

shoulderblades and then the lower two just to the left of my spine down where

it would be behind where the pancreas is located, midway between the bra

line and the waistline. There's a nerve bundle down there somewhere and

we tried to get as close to that as we could. I found I could not place the

pads

in the correct positions without someone helping me, that was one drawback

to the whole process. As you know, Bob's not home very often, and never

seemed to be here when the pain was at it's worse.

The unit works really well, though, and I remember getting a lot of relief from

it.

I hope you can get yours up and running where it can help you the best. I

read somewhere, don't remember where, though, that you WERE NOT

supposed to place the pads on the abdomen. I heard someone say that they

did put them there, but after reading that precaution I was always too chicken

to try it. Just having them on the back worked well enough.

With love, hope and prayers,

Heidi
