Guest guest
Yes I have done the intro and added things slowly back in...I have been told that eggs, all diary and red meat is constipating. This makes the intro very difficult..and turns it into almost like fasting for me because I have now cut out all those things. As for veggies..I am eating zucchini, green beans, very few carrots, cauliflower, onions, green/red/orange peppers all cooked to mush practically. I realize peppers, and onions and cauliflower can be hard to digest but since I had so much improvement for awhile with raw salads I thought these veggies would be okay since they are cooked. I was using 3% milk with dannon yogurt for a starter...and I ate about a cup a day. Since dairy is constipating I guess I will cut that out as well as the cheese. Thankyou for your reply as I know you are busy figuring things out for you and your family but I do appreciate it! If you are still having trouble (constip.) you should probably avoid the cauliflower as it can worsen constipatiion - it is harder to digest and will feed what you are trying to starve out thus continuing the cycle of constipation. After the salad trouble did you go back to the intro for a day or two and then readd the food avoiding the peppers, onions and cauliflower for justa little while. I haven't ever found eggs to be constipating for me. If I eat certain kinds of red meat they can be bothersome but if I either marinate the meat or cook it in the slow cooker it is fine. The marinating or slow cooking helps break down the " fibers " in the meat making it easier for my body to digest. The nasty microbes don't get to eat so less constipation (or diarrhea). With dairy it is a matter of eating SCD legal dairy and being able to tolerate. The key factor in all of this is what **your** body is able to tolerate. If you can digest some of the dairy it shouldn't contribute to your constipation problem. On the otherhand if you eat 2 pounds of cheese in one day you will probably get bound up. That would be too much for your body to digest. Basically, reasonable amounts will also prevent constipation. > I was using 3% milk with dannon yogurt for a starter...and I ate about > a cup a day. You're welcome Bottom line: When you were eating the salads you probably ate more than your body was ready for. It fed some of the harmful microbes. Foods that you had been able to tolerate starting causing problems. If you redo the intro for a day or two and readd foods back in one by one in a week or two should have more variety while starving out the nasties. Some of your constipation from the yogurt is likely from die off. To reduce or elimnate this restart the yogurt after redoing the intro with a small amount and gradually work back up to a daily amount that you like (1-2 cups). Epsom salt baths and/or activated charcoal is very helpful for this kind of die off. (I found it helped a lot when I was constipated) As you add foods in try to take it slower when you get to raw foods giving your body lots of time to adjust. It allows you also to bounce back quicker if you try something you aren't ready for.
