Could you please send me the websites or Phone # of all the places where you can get help with your Medicine ???? My dear Girlfriend of 32 years is having a hard time right now with getting her Medicine. She had to quit working a year ago because of her heart. Her Cobra Ins. is going to run out in a few weeks. Her S.S. has not yet come true either. Her Drs are getting ready to put her on the heart transplant List.So she sure could use this information ASAP> I thank you all very much for this. I just joined the support groups and I have been diagnosed with Relapsing Polychondritis for over five years now. I was reading your letter and I, too, went through the same problem when I found out I was going to lose my COBRA also. In answer to your question, there are several sites you can go through for Patient Assist Programs. I used to be a Med Tech and a back office nurse for an AIDS, MD. I know about this programs. Here are some sites your friend can go through: 1. Directory of Patient Assistance Programs http://www.phrma.org/patients/ 2. Arthritis Foundations 2002 Drug Guide Call to order: 1- 3. Health Canada (you can often get your meds at a greatly reduced price through Canada's subsidized health program.) http://www.hwc.ca 4. Almost all pharmaceutical companies have drug as- sistance program and can be reached through their website addresses.
