Guest guest
Hi, My husband has been on the SCdiet since July 2006. This is our second attempt. We tried last year and the hurricanes swept through and evacuation disrupted our plans. We are on full track and doing great. My husband has had Ulcerative Colitis for the past 27 years. We have seen a vast improvement in his mental well being, much more positive and optimistic, he doesn't worry as much, he has much more strength and vitality. He is on certain drugs at the moment that are killing him. His white and red blood cell count are very diminished. He has the vital statistics of an aids patient at this time. However, his immune system has really worked well considering. We are very thankful. Our main goal with the diet is to allow him to be slowly removed from some of the most dangerous drugs the doctors have him on. And eventually hopefully a recovery from his disease. We understand that it will take at least 2 years on the diet with no mistakes, and then it is only a chance. But, that is a chance we are more than happy to make. We live in the Humble/NE Houston, Texas area. I am looking for others in our area that are on or were on this diet. I am looking for a good local source of yogurt starter. I have a wonderful honey and almond flour supplier. I also wanted to ask if it states anywhere that we should be consuming the yogurt every single day and at what quantity? I couldn't find that. I only found that he can't have more than 3 cups a day. We have been very fortunate to have many local area farmers markets, stores, and sellers for fresh fruits, vegetables, a large varities of meats. I can't wait to try out some more of the recipes on this list. My husband loves the granola snack in the book! Guest guest
, It's certainly not required to consume the yogurt every day, but it's good if you can. Some people actually do scd dairy free. I do hope that he is taking a good scd legal probiotic. This is very important. There isn't necessarily a minimum amount of yogurt to consume each day. You should start out slow...maybe a teaspoon or so...then gradually increase the amount. Also, have you checked out the Eat Wild web site. www.eatwild.com There are a huge number of farms in TX that provide grass fed meats of many kinds that you could easily get in the Houston area. You can look it up by state to find a farm near you. You mentioned that your husband is eating granola, but have only been on scd for the second time since this summer. If I'm wrong, please say so veterans, but that seems a little soon to be eating more advanced foods. I hope that your husband can receive the healing that he so needs.
