I'm posting this on behalf of all the moderators of the pecanbread list.

We would very much like more information about those families who have

reportedly not done well on SCD, turned to the TLO list and the low-oxylate

diet, and done better.

If you could, please, we would like to hear from parents who have already posted

to the TLO list and claimed that their child was doing better on LOD than

SCD.... and who can meet the following requirements:

When they had problems with SCD, they need to have followed our protocol for

resolving problems as outlined below :

*Eliminate all the supplements and try one at a time to make sure that

the supplements are well tolerated.

*Start out with the intro diet and introduce one food at a time to

make sure that the food are well tolerated.

*Feed only foods that are tolerated while on SCD.

*Low nut consumption, not higher than was recommended by Elaine.

*Watch out for peanut butter, beans and cashews. Wait at least 3 months

after GI symptoms are gone before introducing these foods.

They need to have met the above requirements...

AND FED THEIR CHILD 24 hr. SCD GOAT YOGURT while on SCD.

Also, we would need to know if those kids increased their yogurt consumption

after

switching from SCD to LOD or increased their probiotic dose.

It's important for us to be sure that they also did NOT start other treatments

such as LDN at the same time that the LOD diet was started.

Please feel free to post this on the TLO list, and have those parents get in

touch with one of us.

thanks,

Patti
