I know this has been covered recently, but I am still not sure what

the consensus is on this. Should I be giving one or the other or both

of these supps. to my kids? Currently I am only giving CLO. If fish

oil is reccomended instead of, or in addition to CLO, any

reccomendations on what fish oil to get?

Hi Molly,

Both. Cod liver oil is an excellent source of vitamin A (and D). Fish

oil provides Omega 3. We give our 3 year old son 1 tsp CLO and 1

tablespoon of fish oil per day. We use Nordic Natural Arctic Omega

Liquid because it is chceked for mercury content. We also give 1 tsp

of ProEFA which is a blend of Omega 3, 6 and 9.

I'm not expert on this (just an amateur parent) so I'll emphasise that

this is what suited Eddie. In fact we saw impressive improvements.

The CLO helped with vision (reducing dilated pupils) and the fish oils

(ie fatty acids) resolved his dry hands and dandruff. Our nutritionist

said it takes about 12 weeks for fatty acids to have their effect and

she was right - it was a gradual improvement over this time.

BTW - The Nordic fish oil has a lemon flavour that is so good our son

likes it in his pear pudding (pear puree + goat yoghurt).

Best wishes

Sandy
