Guest guest
I have seen several items talking about getting off of caffeine before surgery, but I haven't found a definitive explanation of its role post-op. Are we supposed to be off caffeine for good, or just in the time immediately post-op? If so, why? Also, I have seen several references to avoiding carbonated beverages. What's the reason for that, and is it long-term, as well? I don't drink coffee but am somewhat of a Diet Coke addict. My surgery is next week, so I have weaned myself to caffeine free Diet Coke, and am wondering if I will need to give up entirely. (A price I am willing to pay, if need be, certainly, but just wondering.)
