Guest guest
Hello Heidi, First, thanks for the good wishes for my Spanish hol; it went very well indeed, especially considering the foot probs I had had beforehand. Hope you are well at the moment and that wedding plans are proceding as they should! My feet held out in Spain and held me up! I'm going to look for some sandals with a full, filled in heel to-day, if that isn't a contradiction in terms, so that I can wear them with the orthotics. Any excuse for new shoes! I think in July I'll be going to Barcelona for a week on a school visit as a colleague has had to pull out at the last minute. I need new shoes to be able to pursue 40 kids with some determination if needed!! All my current sandals are sling-back so the orthotics would fall out the back if I tried to wear them. They're invisible in ordinary shoes. Thank you so much for the article on enzymes and pain management. I found it absolutely fascinating and haven't seen it before. I do remember you posting the link to the other article referred to by and I'd like to read it now. I must look back to find it. The article you have just posted to is very interesting. Is it part of a larger series, journal or website? It seems to be really informative without being too technical for the ordinary reader!! I found it extremely useful in confirming a number of ideas I have about Creon and pain-management and in putting them into a wider context. I seem to be one of the fortunate ones, as I know you are too, who are genuinely helped by the enzyme therapy. The references to the placebo effect are odd though? I'm not sure how that fits in!! In fact, I was fairly sceptical about the effects of the enzyme therapy and was very pleasantly surprised at its efficacy. I'm interested in the reference to the reasons for simply increasing the dose in some cases where it is initially not especially helpful with pain. That's exactly what my pancreas specialist did (when I was referred to him by my gastro who had initially put me on a low dose), with pretty dramatic effects. Thanks again Heidi. It makes me realise just how important this site is to me! I really appreciate your in-put! Must re-read the article now and look back for the earlier one! Take care and keep well. With very good wishes, Fliss (UK)
