Guest guest
Hello again and Sonja, I can find an excellent range of gluten-free foodsin the UK. Because I had my coeliac diagnosis in 1988 I get GF foods on prescription. I do accept that they would be inordinately expensive otherwise. My GP has been great. Even since my CP diagnosis last year, I can still have GF foods on prescription. My gastroenterologst actually wrote to the GP saying that his advice was that I should be in no rush to change as the introdcution of the GF diet in 1988 definitely helped. Of course, the " luxury " GF foods, such as cake etc, are not available on prescription, but basic like bread, crackers, plain biscuits (cookies in the US?) and GF flour mixes can all be had on prescription. I couldn't have them of course, if I hadn't had a coeliac diagnosis. However, bread remains a problem! There are lote that are indistinguishable from ordinary bread when toasted but none are as good as ordinary bread when not. Even home-baked bread is not the same as bread containing gluten. Anyone found anything different? With good wishes, Fliss
