Hi, I am new to the group. I found the info about MGB on the web. I

have tried every diet known to mankind and remain obese. I had

cancer two years ago followed by surgery. This past March I had a

mild heart attack caused by diabetes. I feel that I have lost so

much in life by being this size. I have such a supportive, loving

family. I told them about the surgery and the steps we must take

together before and after. They are very enthusiastic and want me

to " get right to it " . Our 17 year old has never seen me at a normal

size. The look on his face and the words he said mean everything and

I do mean everything to me. My men have seen me through terrible

times and have assured me we will do this together. I sit here

bawling as I am writing realizing how blessed I am. We are changing

insurance companies in October so I am getting what I can of the

packet together now. We are praying that I can have the surgery the

week before Thanksgiving so I can have that week to rest and then

back to school two weeks before Christmas vacation. We are looking

forward to meeting DR. R and some of you, too. It seems I know you

by reading this message board the last few days. We were impressed

by 's website and the information/photos included.

I am so excited thinking about reclaiming my life and being able to

do " normal " things again..it has been so long.
