Guest guest
Giovanni, I know what your going through. It is amazing that many ER docs don't know that with CP your enzyme levels can be normal. Your not alone in this a lot of people on this board have had the same experience. I don't understand why your doctor told you surgery won't help, I've never heard that before. I had a whipple just over two years ago and have not had a single episode since. I do have to take the enzymes everytime I eat and the do have some difficulty with digesting fats but these are very manageable. They were able to leave part of my pancreas so I'm not a diabetic. Have you had a mrcp (an MRI of the pancreas). I would recommend seeing a surgeon who is an expert in pancreatic surgery. It can help I went back to work 9 months after my surgery and have missed only one day of work to illness since (the flu). If you have any questions I'd be glad to talk to you. I don't always check the posts so you can e-mail me directly at muspub751@.... I'm sure you're get lots of other good advice, there are many knowledgeable compassionate people here. Good luck, Rob
Guest guest
Hello Rob Its glad to hear from you thankyou for responding to my message. What i meant about the surgery is the doc who did the test said that it is really to late and I am very worried about a Transplant that is what I do for a living so iknow all about it. Its not that easy and most the Doctors still dont belive me because im so young and it started when i was only 21 and that is very rare. The MD's say that it usually happends in the 40s and later and im trying to tell them well I have it and the specialist have done and checked and found out that I do have it and i have had it for a very long time and now it is late in the game. I went to my pain doctor on tuesday and I told him that im not comfortable and that i need to be honest with him i mean i wasnt before because i thought he didnt want to hear it but i was and he was very helpful he upped the patch to 100mcg and Dilaudid to 8mg every 4 hrs or for Break through meds. and i was supposed to see a New special GI doctor today but he had an emergency and couldnt see me now i have to wait until june 3rd.. so tell me about you and what stage you in and what you take and things.. I should tell you when this started I was in the hopital like 6 months out of year and I get admitted to the Hospital at least 3 times a year and that is not alot.. well get back with me and we can talk .. thanks again for getting back with me.. ok Giovanni
