Back in Sept of 2000 I had a hospital stay where they removed a

choledochal cyst. Thing were goin well I still had residule pain for

about five months. My primary care doc kept me on ultram for about 15

months after the surgery. I had pain but it wasn't that bad, ultram

helped.

Then in Feburary of 2002 I wanted to get to the bottom of were the

pain was coming from. So after a colonoscopy and an endoscopy of my

stomach they order a ERCP. This was around march, it was the first of

four. They place a stent, this caused a hospital stay with post-ercp

pancreatitis, it had to be removed four weeks later. They they wanted

to do a exploritory of why this caused a attack. They found I had

pancreas divisum. I ended up in the hospital again. From my previous

surgery they had to give me new plumbing(roux-en-y) because they had

to remove my duedenum and gallbadder. They wanted to see if there was

a obstructions. The had to use a pediatric ERCP scope. There were no

obstructions, needless to say I ended up back in the hospital. Each of

these stays were for four days except the last, I was in for six days.

Now after becoming stable for about a two year I find myself at the

latest chapter of this little journey. After a major attack in the

beginning of March I am now a diabetic(type 2) requiring insulin daily.

It has been an increadible three and half years. Lot's ups and downs.

Ton's of prayers from myself and others. Yet, I am hangin' in there. I

made some pretty incredible descision before all of this that have

helped out like, getting long term disability on my own and managing

to keep my own health care going.

I just hope at the rate of progression that this disease has been

going now that I am on both insulin and creon(enzymes) my pancreas

will get a bit of a rest. I hope to stay out of the hospital as long

as I did before if not longer.
