Guest guest
When I had to take Tamoxifen (anti breast cancer drug) to see if it would shrink my desmoid tumours, my oncologist put me on Neurontin to help stifle the side effects of the Tamoxifen (hot flashes). I didn't know it was supposed to help with pain, but I didn't feel it even if it did. my attacks were so bad that it was hard keeping the pain under control... Anyway, A couple of days after being on the Neurontin, I was well enough to go driving. I hadn't been on any pain meds for a few days..which was a nice welcome..and was on my way to my friend's place when my mother who was sitting in the passenger seat beside me..yelled at me to wake up. I had never in my life fallen asleep at the wheel of the car..It happened another time too. It wasn't until I was getting another prescription filled that the pharmacist mentioned that it could be the Neurontin causing me to be so drowsy. It got so bad that I was only awake for 8 hours a day there abouts. I just couldn't keep my eyes open. When I stopped taking the Neurontin, everything returned to normal. My family doctor just a couple of weeks ago suggested I take Neurontin to try and help with the biliary spasms I suffer from, but I told her that was no good because it made me so drowsy, and I was taking 100mg tablets which is the lowest dose, so it wasn't good for me to do that.. When I got home, I thought I had better check just to make sure, and was I surprised to see that I had been prescribed 400mg tablets and to take 2 every 4 hours...no wonder I was zonked all the time .. I still didn't go back onto the Neurontin though..it won't help with my spasms..that is caused from my gall bladder removal I am pretty well sure of.
