I received this very interesting print out from my doctor. It

explains where all of the research is. It is from CFF and I think

you can probably get more info on their website. HOwever, here are

some of the things it says...

Gene therapy is in the phase 2 clinical trial which is the " safety

and effectiveness " trials.

CFTR protein rescue..there are currently 4 things they are working

on. Phenylbutyrate and gentamicin are in the phase 2 clinical

trial . Curcumin is in the phase one (Safety) trial and vertex/UCSF

is in lab studies and drug discovery.

Restore Ion Transport. There are 6 studies being done one is on the

cusp of going to phase 3 clinical trial (safety, effectiveness and

dose). Then there is SPI-8811 is at the end of phase one. Mollli

1901 is in the middle of phase one. INO4995 and Parion 617 are at

the end of pre-clinical (lab testing) and then the Vertex/UCSF as

mentioned previously.

The other categories are anti-inflammatory, mucus regulation, anti-

infectives,nutrition.

The phases are: lab studies is the first step and then pre-clinical,

phase 1 phase 2 phase 3 FDA approval amd then a phase4 which is Dose

and new uses.

If you can't find anymore info or would like more from me. I have

the info that describes what ion transport etc... are and describes

the drugs they are researching, which is available on the website, I

think.

Luck,

e ( who is way to chatty today)
