Guest guest
Such a good point, Michele.... With a very damaged gut, one has to wonder whether all the $$$ spent on special supplements are even being absorbed. Putting a priority on healing the gut damage seems ideal.... then reassessing the situation and adding what basic supps seem necessary. SCD is so highly superior, nutrition-wise, to the way a lot of the kids were eating previously. Patti ASD Vits We're going to be starting SCD soon & I've been re-doing all our vits to be totally " legal " . I'm replacing some but am wondering whether others are even necessary. It seems like Elaine wasn't too into over supplementing, but I wanted to see what others do. For severely autistic children, how much do you all do in the way of vits & supps? I'm seriously downgrading him to a legal probiotic (right now he gets something much stronger). I'm also considering giving up the extra Vitamin E he gets, as well as replacing the Brainchild vits & mins with a legal multi from Kirkmans. I'm also wondering whether it's necessary to keep him on the extra Brainchild zinc he's been getting (it's legal but I don't know if necessary). It's all very expensive & he has definite absorption issues, so we don't know if it's all even helping him. Thanks for your help, Michele
