Guest guest
I am only 23. I had my Gallbladder removed in February. I felt great for a while. All of a sudden I get these sharp stabbing pains around my incision site from the gallbladder and my ribcage on the right side. The pain moves into my back and puts pressure on my shoulder blades. These pains are not chronic but more so sporadic and come through out the day for a bout 2 to 3 minutes. I have no other symptoms like jaundice, fever, etc... Could this be something with pancreas? Why tests should I have done? I have had blood work very many times after that included amylase and lipase and all the enzymes of liver, pancreas, kidney, etc... If there is something wrong witht he pancreas, will it show up in bloodwork? Thanks so much, I cnanot deal anymore, nor can I take any more days off of work because I have so many bills and can not aford to go unpaid. So I cannot go to my GP and go have tests because the tests are always during working hours, my last resort is to go to the ER and have the tests done. I just want to know if this sounds like pancreatitis of some sort? Thanks!!!!
Guest guest
Hello...I don't see your name here anywhere...but just wanted to say that it certainly sounds like it could be a problem with your pancreas from the symptoms that you describe. This illness is not always associated with fever, jaundice, etc., but those symptoms can be present with some people but not all. I had my gall bladder removed in February of this year as well. I'll let others here that are more experienced answer your questions but just wanted to say that SOMETIMES the blood work will show increased levels of amylase and lipase when you're having problems with your pancreas, but not always as is the case with me and a few others here that I know of. But definitely have it checked out and let us know how you are....you've found a good place here to get good information. I wouldn't know what to do without all the wonderful support I get from the people on this board! best wishes to you
