Guest guest
i recently purchased a l'equipe dehydrator, and im trying to make fruit leather and carrot crisps with it. my first attempt at making fruit leather in it has failed, im cooking at 140F, but the outside is going very hard and crisp and the inside is staying soggy, if i wait until the middle is dry - its almost impossible to peel away from the sheets and has come off in very dry thin bits, help i really want to make this work - would it be better to use greaseproof paper instead of the plastic trays that come with the dehydrator, ive made it in the oven but as i do so much other cooking id like to try and use the dehydrator instead of taking up my oven time. thanks so much for any input kindest regards emma 32 kai 8 asd dspx fian 3 behaviourally recovered with enzymes but many bowel issues scd 2 months and doing so well
Guest guest
>Emma, I have a different kind of dehydrator but I usually spread the fruit pretty thin, where you can see through it. Before I put the fruit on I use an SCD legal oil and thinly coat the sheet. The less water in the fruit the quicker it dries also.
