Subj: Can you forward this message onto the group for me ?

Date: 13-Apr-2004

I will be offline for a little while, maybe a week or two. As most

of you know, my father has been sick for quite a while. My mother

and I have shared the care giving duties. In the past I have shared

with this group my funny father stories while he was hospitalized and

how unplesant he could be at times .( Unfortunatley this was his

baseline personality !).

Well, he pulled another funny. I took him to the doctor for his check

up.. Two days later I left on what I thought was going to be a

restful springbreak with my son and husband. Got to Gatlinburg Tn by

car on Sunday. Spent 2 days there, got a call that he had passed in

his sleep ( for that I am thankful) and had to turn around and come

back after 2 days of playing in the mountains. So needless to say, my

siblings have teased me that he yet got the last laugh .

Mom fell last week and hurt her hip before he died and we are now

nursing her back to health. Just had the funeral yesterday and I am

pooped. Scheduled to go back to work this Thursday. Soon as things

settle, I will try to post again. Just wanted to let you all know so

that you would not think anything bad happened to me like someone

stealing my Nurse Ratchett broom and me not being able to get around

( smile !).

I am OK and surprisingly my SOD is not acting up more than usual.

Another thing that I am thankful for.

Take Care,

Lily RN from Ohio
