Sometime throughout the course of the day it will begin to hurt. Nothing relieves the pain. However when I wake up the next morning the pain is gone. The only part of my ear that hurts is the external part. It is never red and never swollen. It rarely hurts for more than a day or two but a few weeks ago it began to hurt on and off almost daily. Again it is NEVER red and never swollen, just extremely painful. It can even hurt for an hour or two and then suddenly disappear. Has anyone had similar bouts? My ENT mentioned the possibility of RP and did a sed rate test and it was normal. I've read about ear flares but they all mention the ear being swollen and red.
