Guest guest
I’m sorry to hear that you had a poor experience at CIRS in Palo Alto. I have heard good things about the other ortho there, Amy. Perhaps you can start seeing her if you still have time left in the band? We had a good experience at CIRS in Oakland so they would be another option if you wanted to continue treatment. Bob was the Technician we saw most often. He was quite rude and uncomfortable to be around. We did not see very much correction but my son had a relatively mild case. I did not expect much but I wanted to try everything we could. I'm NOT bitter about that-it's the treatment I (my son) received when I went in there that I'm upset about. Bob was gruff at best and talked to me like I was an idiot. In terms of the STARband I guess I was, but he never offered much information or guidance. I had to drag stuff out of him and when he answered he was short and rude. I would ask a follow-up question and he acted like I was asking him to read the entire encyclopedia. We had an appt last week and I missed it on accident because I got caught up with my other child who has another medical issue. I JUST realized I missed it when I was going through my purse and saw the reminder card. I did NOT recieve a courtesy call. They are not that busy that they can't call to reschedule. I think at this point, 14 months we are done with the band and with Bob. I would never treat anyone the way Bob treated us. I do not understand why someone we PAID IN FULL to provide services would treat their patients like that. They just wanted the money and do not care about the outcome. I have a feeling Bob at CIRS is shady. Do not take your business to him. Luckily if you live in the Bay Area you have other choices. Good luck to you all how are going through the banding process, it's hard enough as it is. I hope you have support. Noah 14 months, wore helmet for 5+ months.
