Guest guest
Hello all. I'd like to ask off topic questions of the great people here. If anyone who knows the answers would please email me privately I would appreciate it. I've heard and read on the list that to be tested for Celiac Disease you have to have gluten in your diet leading up to the test, but I can't seem to find any info on this now that I'm looking for it. I have just about decided that I really do want the testing even if I do have to eat a diet that will make me sick for a while. I know this is hard for some to understand. But if any of you know about this, can you answer a few questions for me? How many days in advance of the test would it be recommended to have the gluten in your diet? Can I get away with only one or two days, even though I know that my reaction to it is fairly mild compared to some? Or will I need to be eating grains for longer? weeks? (that would sure rule out the possiblity--I can't get off SCD and be sick for that long!) Really, for several reasons I think it will make a big difference to me to know yea, or nea on the Celiac question. But I need some info so that I can think about it some more. Thanks so much!
