Guest guest
Hello all, I posted yesterday but found out I was hard bouncing and not sure if I missed a reply. I did look at the post and didn't see one there so I will post again. As some of you know, I have done blood work to test for diabetes. I got the results yesterday. My FNP said the test was 5.8 and I needed to be 6.0 or higher to be considered diabetic. She said I was worlds away from being diabetic. Now I am no expert but .2 makes this a worlds away situation? Isn't that a little close? I am not an expert and would like the advice of someone else who might know. I have to ask because she also told me my son only had " allergys " and after several months of persistance I found out he has a snoot full of cysts. So I am not all that comfortable in my FNP diagnosis or at the reading of the test results. Because of my having CP, is this some sort of a sign that I am getting ready to have it? Also, I did test high for the TSH for a thyroid problem and on medication for that now. She again said this had nothig to do with my pancreas, but kinda sorta isn't everything linked? She said I was high, but she had seen higher and this could be the reason I haven't been able to lose any weight. She also said this is why my blood sugar was all over the place and explained all the other symptoms I have been having. Does anyone else say this to be true? I have a friend across the street whos husband has the same thyroid problem and with in 45 days of being on this medication and getting the thyroid back to working right he dropped 30 pounds!!! Gee, I hope that happens for me. I am not looking for an excuse to have diabetes it just seems like my FNP is trying to have the thyroid thing explain away everything. Any input from anyone would be most appreciated. Thanks Sandy in Ca
