Welcome Tumpa, Saccharin is allowed and has gotten a clean bill of health for humans despite all the media reports about rat studies and bladder cancer. I use hermasetas TABLETS, readily available in Canada. I'm not sure about U.S. pharmacies that sell it. You likely have questions about Stevia and Splenda and they are addressed in the " S " section of the Knowlesge base on Elaine Gottschall's website: www.breakingthe viciouscycle.info Carol F. It depends on which version of the Spectrum Complete you are using but the flavored powder version has xylitol in it (possibly other illegals). Pro-Bio Gold is illegal and so is the Udo's infant probiotic. Both have bifidus bacteria. You'll need to thoroughly go through all the supplements and check every single one....( there is a list of legal/illegal supplement additives on www.pecanbread.com ) and swap them out for legal versions. I wish you well as you start SCD. This diet is a very different premise than GF/CF, though.... " occasional cheating " will completely undermine your efforts. So, get prepared to make the cheating impossible. best.... Patti Other types of sweeteners and intro Hi, I am just about to embark on this diet. My son is 5 diagnosed with autism at 2 years (regressed at 15-18 months), I also have a NT 2.5 yr old boy and NT 14 month old girl. We did the GFCF diet for 2 years and then noticed no change when infractions occured. So we do " cheat " occassionaly. He is currently on Houston enzymes AFP and I have had the " Vicious Cycle " book for almost two years and have finally got the " guts " to try it. I am very overwhelmed to try this diet but will do so if it helps him. He does not have diarhea but does get constipated (or withholds), hard to tell which is causing which sometimes as he is non-verbal. I'm sure I will have millions of questions so please bear with me. I just wanted to introduce myself and ask a quick question. What alternative of sweetener apart from honey can I use? Thanks, Tumpa Reinhardt To the world you may be one person, to one person you are the world~Anonymous
