Guest guest
I read your posting about your neighbor. Don't stop talking to her, although you may not want to confront her directly, continuing to talk to her and share your success will hopefully at least encourage her to ask her doctor about it. Good luck. > > Hi, I realized since my son got his helmet 6 weeks ago, I am not stopping to observe all babies heads. Wherever I go I just see slight flat heads. I dont know if something is wrong with my eyes. > I have a neighbor who is very sensitive and whenever we sit out she asks me questions about my son's helmet. I give her all the info I know, and always tell her how happy I am that i did the helmet early. Her baby is 12 months old and has a really bad bad flat head. He looks terrible. I guess she doesnt want to see it. I feel so bad for her whenever she talks about my sons helmet. I cant tell her anything cause she will get insulted. She had her baby in the 32nd week premature and had a lot of trouble with herself after that. Before the baby was born she lay in the hospital for 8 weeks bedrest. She has a handful of children. She has been pretty busy with herself and her family. She has had a surgery herself not long ago. I just feel that she couldnt take another burden on her head knowing that her baby will need to wear a helmet. She is a very complexed person herself, It would be very tough for her to walk around with a baby in a helmet. The baby is big and doesnt look like he was born premature.. Anyway there is nothing to do, I just wanted to share this story with you. > Miriam > mom to ely 61/2 months 6 weeks in helmet >
Guest guest
Hi Miriam, I look at every single baby and child's head now and see that most have a flat spot. I even look at adults with no hair or thinning hair and notice flat spots and say to myself that I would never have seen it if I wasn't looking for it. I wonder if I'll ever stop looking:) Your neighbor might be consciously or maybe subconsciously trying to get you to talk about her son's head. Totally guessing, but she may be angling to get you to comment on her son's head ( " he has a great looking head " or " maybe you should look into banding " ). It's kind of like she wants confirmation that her son looks okay or on the flip side, she may need to do something about his flat head. I'm completely speculating because I don't know the exact conversations you are having with her, but I would talk to her about it whenever she brings it up. It sounds like she has her hands full, so sensitivity is definitely key.
