Guest guest
Hi Sherry, I had surgery on Aug 16 and I have lost 19 lbs. I've been concerned too so I e-mailed Dr. R. He asked me to keep a food diary for about 4-5 days. I have been doing that and I think maybe I could be eating too much, trying to avoid nausea and empty stomach syndrome. For the Nausea and stomach pangs he has put me back on the carafate and prilosec for a month. I also have not started exercising because I always have trouble with me stomach. I hope the additional meds for a month help to get me jump started! lol I just thought this might help you some! Keep in touch. Guest guest
Dinah, thanks for your comments. I am still hanging in there! I m feeling better about all of this and will keep being optimistic about losing weight. I spoke with a psychiatrist about the slow loss, and she speculated that since diabetics are able to eat more and not gain weight because the sugar is expelled through the urine and not used properly - and now my blood sugars are almost normal - then my body is utilizing the sugar - so weight loss is slower. Getting rid of diabetes is worth a slower weight loss! Thanks, Sherry
