Guest guest
is going in tomorrow for a picc line... we've had two previously and each entailed a 3 to 4 day hospital stay... this time they are recommending it as an out-patient procedure - we go in, have the line placed and go home. We were given the option of him receiving his first dose of meds at home or at the hospital. is almost 6. I don't know of any other child who has had this done as an out-patient and I know of very few adults. I don't know the arguments for/against either out-patient or admittance, other than you obviously feel better at home... can anyone out there help me work this through in my mind so I can find comfort with what they're recommending or provide the arguments (if necessary) to have him admitted? Have any of you had a picc line placed in your child on out-patient basis? Thanks much in advance for any help you can offer.
