I went to Kroger Pharmacy this morning finally to pick up my meds - I

am scheduled for surgery on 10/04 - Wednesday of next week. I was

standing there in my morning haze after taking the kids to school and

started noticing the HUGE totals she was ringing up. I said " hey,

what about my insurance " - instantly fearing that the insurance

company had for some reason refused to pay for the meds. Instead,

she says " oh, the computer was down when we filled these, I'll

resubmit them " . I waited about 5 minutes and the total was MUCH

better!!!! For any one who is interested here is a total of the meds

BEFORE insurance.

Transderm Scop $ 30.79 - 4 patches

Carafate $108.59 - 30 day supply

Prevacid (preop) $ 13.09 - 1 tablet

Levaquin $ 23.29 - 1 tablet

Metoclopramide $ 8.89 - 1 tablet

Actigall (non-generic) $182.89 - 30 day supply

Prevacid (postop) $122.99 - 30 day supply

The grand total is $490.53. The good news is, after my insurance

paid the total was $112.78. The only thing that I had to pay " extra "

for was the Actigall - apparently not in the formulary for my plan.

Next time I will switch to generic and maybe that will be covered.

(I guess they would rather me get gallstones and have to have another

expensive procedure!)

The only Rx that Barbara didn't call in for me was the Vioxx and I

guess I will get that filled in Durham. Wish me luch guys!
