I can use Elaine's basic recipe on page 132 of BTVC and add other stuff like

coconut,

raisins etc.

I make truffle balls by putting dates and almonds through my Omega 8002 juicer,

adding

a little honey and pressing a nut half in or rolling them in coconut.

I make my own Diva's Fab Fudge from the UCLBS site.

I make Lass' Easter candy which is out of this world and tastes like

" Butterfinger. "

I love the " Quick Granola Cookies " recipe from Lucy's Kitchen cookbook. I think

they would almost fall into the category you're looking at, because they contain

pecans (or walnuts), raisins, coconut, honey, a little butter and a bit of

vanilla... all ground together in the food processer. They are rolled into

balls, flatened slightly, then baked for just a short time, but really wouldn't

need to be, since there's no egg in them. They are WONDERFUL and really easy to

make. They get me through a chocoholic attack. I can't post the recipe

exactly, because it would be copyrighted by Lucy.... but her cookbook is worth

it's weight in gold just for this recipe alone. :)

Carol,

Can you share how you make dried fruit and nut treats free of illegals? I

need some " nonperishable " treats to have at school and daycare that my son

will eat.
