Guest guest
, I'm glad you are feeling a bit better. Congratulation on the exercise. I know how hard it is to keep it up. With rehab 3 times a week, there are days Ijust don't want to put my shoes on to go. But makes me and I do feel better after. Keep up the good work. hugs
Guest guest
Hey Squeek, Yes, I am feeling better today than I was yesterday. I even went to water aerobics again this morning. 2 days in a row!! I'm on a roll now! I'm glad you get a break from the tests, but it would be nice to know something! Are you getting any helpful information? I hope so. Take care and I'll talk with you soon. M > > Are you feeling any better today, ? Hope so! I'm o.k., just tired from all the running around to get these tests accomplished. But, I am done until my dexi which isn't until the end of the month. YEAH! I'll let you know when I hear anything, and you please keep us informed about the Enbrel situation. > Love, squeek

Guest guest
Hey Kim Yeah is only in school from 8:00 to 10:45. I heard some moms talking the other day saying that they remember their older kids in kindergarten (at the same school) from 8:00 until about 11:30/12:00. That is considered their 1/2 day kindergarten. It's a bit of a bummer. B kimc wrote: > Hi , > Congratulations on 's first day of school! Guest guest
, You are correct: The school used to have a longer kindergarten day. But I think that was before there were so many kids. They only had one session, with two classes. Now there are so many kids that they need two sessions, making up 4 classes in total. They have to end the morning at 10:45 so that the teachers can get their lunches and have time to set up their rooms for the afternoon classes. And, according to the teacher contracts, the teachers are supposed to have 210 minutes of prep time as well. If the budget had passed, there would have been 4 all day kindergarten classes. But that is history now. I think it will be a long time before that is brought up again. The ramifications all around were just too much to take. The entire budget failed as a result of that question. Too many people did not realize that they could vote for one and not the other. I saw pass my classroom on her way to a special on Friday, I believe. She was at the end of the line, chatting away just like the rest of them. She never even looked in my room. I hope she is happy. Guest guest
Jodi, was on her way to gym class on Friday. She is loving school and in just the four days of school I can see her eagerness to learn. It's wonderful and Mrs. Viruet is great. is telling me that she saw you today in the gym. She was going to music class. B --- Jodi Zwain wrote: > , > > You are correct: The school used to have a longer > kindergarten > day. But I think that was before there were so many > kids. Guest guest
Hi , Welcome back to this group. I don't know how long it has been since you were a member, but I don't recognize your name. I am a special ed teacher. As I was reading your email, before I got to the part about you saying that you were told he was mentally retarded, I was thinking that he sounded like he was autistic in some respects. Here in Florida, the term mentally retarded isn't really used anymore. Instead the term is mentally handicapped. What was 's IQ? There are different levels of mental handicaps, depending on a child's IQ. You should also know that a child can be dually diagnosed. In other words, could also meet the criteria for autism (he would need to be evaluated again for this). However, the eligibility which is the primary one would most likely determine his services and placement. For example, I used to teach in a center for mentally handicapped. There were some autistic students there, but they were there because they were also considered mentally handicapped, and this became their primary eligibility. I have a soon to be 12 year old son (next week) with RSS. He was just evaluated by the school system here for learning disabilities, but he did not qualify. Fortunately for us though, he already receives most of the services and accommodations that he would need if he were to be considered learning disabled. Kim C.
