Guest guest
I was told I would need a tp/ict. My docs sent me on a long trip to be evauluated for just that. That particular doc said that my panc is not sick enough to warrent a total. So I had the Beger procedure last month. Doing so so, its like a kinder gentler whipple. I was told that this would buy me some time before finally needing a tp/ict. Also they are working on bringing that procedure to my hospital; MUSC. Where I am a patient and a staff rn. If they are offering you the tp with transplant, do it. My guess would be that your panc is sick enough. I wish I had that procedure, the cure, they say. Go for it , if you dont want to ask them to do me instead!

Thanks, Kimber for your kind words. Unfortunately, due to my recent pancreas flair ups I won't be able to attend the wake or funeral today and tomorrow (also I can't afford the additional expense since the funeral is in New Orleans and I'm now living in the Atlanta area). I feel badly about not being there for my brother, but I spoke with him today and he fully understands my reasons fornot attending. Still, I feel like a heel for not being able to attend, regardless of the reasons why. Fortunately, he doesn't feel the same way as I do. I wish you could have it for me as I am deadly afraid of having any more surgeries (even wirh all the surgeries I've had in the past, 'm still a big coward). After I speak with Dr Sutherland and find out whether or not he would be willing to take me on as a patient, and after I've spoken to my local GI doc, I promise to keep you posted on what, if anything I plan on doing. Besides, it may be too late for me anyway since I have very little pancreas left for him to " farm " any islet cells. Andre'
